Watson Blinds and Awnings Showroom

Most external awnings are available in a range of fabrics for you to choose from. When selecting the most suitable fabric you should consider the type of awning, colour, the purpose of the awning and the durability. Our expert staff can assist you with this selection. We recommend you visit our showroom to view the fabrics or request a visit from one of our representatives.

Sunscreen Fabrics (Code S)

Sunscreen fabrics are the “New Age” synthetic fabric designed to let light in yet keep the sun out. Thanks to the PVC coated high tensile polyester inner core and its especially woven construction, Sunbrella will keep its long lasting good looks for many years.

Acrylic Fabrics (Code A)

Most acrylics are 100% solution dyed with a water resistance treatment. All acrylics have different fabric treatment for fabric protection. The base cloth is woven from pigmented acrylic fibres. High light fastness pigments ensure that outdoor durability far surpasses conventionally dyed fabrics. The acrylic is inherently unattractive to fungal growth. The coating process includes a thermosetting resin, powerful fungicides and fluoropolymer fabric protector, which imparts water and soil repellency to the product.

Canvas/Polycotton (Code C)

All canvas is plain woven with approx 52% polyester and 48% cotton. All Awning canvas has a water based stain repelling formula that effectively repels most stain causing agents. When agents like water, dust etc. come into contact with the treated fabrics, the water forms beads on the surface unable to penetrate into the fabric and simply rolls off. This treatment is incorporated into the coating process. This ensures the canvas is more durable, easy to clean and easy to maintain.
