On Friday, 10 December, John Watson’s installed a Pleated Patio in a very troublesome sections of our home—a sunroom at the back of our house where the heat entered through the laserlite section of the roof and virtually made the room unusable during the Summer months.
When I first called your office to seek some assistance and guidance as to what we could do to avoid another long summer of heat, you suggested the Pleated Patio could be the answer to our problem. It was also an unusual room in that it had a very high ceiling.
We have waited a little while before writing to you so we could test the Pleated Patio and during that time we have some very warm weather. I am very pleased to advise the PP has passed with flying colours and not only do we now have a room that looks and feels so much cooler, but one we can finally use. The neutral shade we selected also gives the room a soft and attractive glow.
Finally, I would appreciate you passing on our thanks Jim and Mick, who arrived in the middle of a noisy thunderstorm, but nonetheless did a very professional job for us. On behalf of my husband and myself, I would also like to take the opportunity to wish John Watson’s P/L & Staff all the very best for Christmas and the year ahead.

We are delighted with our new blinds; think they lower the temperature on our home by about 10 degrees, quite an achievement.

What I would like is some information with regard to warrantee or guarantee with regard to work and product provided.
Perry mentioned that there was a 5 year guarantee on the blind fabric, how about motors that run the blinds.
I would appreciate knowing in writing just where we stand with, fabric and motors.

I could not let another week go by without writing to you to thank you and compliment you on our new blinds. They are wonderful. My only regret is that we did not ask you to install them years ago. No longer is the front section of our house like the innards of a steelworks on hot afternoons. It is as cool as the rest of the house, which is amazing. Our air conditioner used to chug away all summer long but it has come on only a couple of times the blinds were installed. The electricity saving may take a few years to pay for the blinds but our house is so much more comfortable, so who cares?
We didn’t have the time to have quotes from other blind companies so I can’t compare you with competitors. However, you scored 10/10 in all areas in my opinion. You were prompt, courteous, and honest and up front if you needed to ask advice fro others about our particular requirements. You listened to our requirements and met every one of them. We asked (and hoped) that you would make and install the blinds to a standard so that they looked like they were designed with the house rather than a tacky after thought. The powder coating of the pelmets and the runners was a great idea. The motors also were the way to go. I hope that we don’t need to test your after sales service but I have every confidence that it would be up to your usual standard.
Nicky was not keen on blinds because she did not like the idea of a very dark house. The fabric you recommend allows adequate light so he is happy. I don’t think it will be long before we ask you to measure up the windows near our kitchen and family room for the same treatment.

The fixed awning looks terrific and will make a big difference in providing shade and privacy to this side of our house – particularly during the summer months.
Our thanks and appreciation to Marbelle for her advice and courteous manner. It was suggested the awning would take approx three weeks, so we were surprised and delighted when advised it was ready in little over a week.
We were not at home for the installation but had left instructions for the person(s) from John Watson’s re side entry etc. The padlock on the gate was re-locked, our elderly dog was inside the yard, and except for the fact that we had a brand new awning sitting under our eaves; we would hardly have known anyone had been.

I am writing on behalf of my mother, Mrs Mary Ault of 17 Ferguson CCt, Ngunnawal and myself to express our appreciation for the prompt service provided by your firm to rectify a problem with my mother’s motorised folding arm awning. The awning had stuck in an extended position and would not retract.
I went to the showroom early last Friday morning and explained the situation and the effect the anxiety was causing to my elderly mother. The young woman in the office (I didn’t get her name) was very sympathetic and helpful. She explained that there was no one available at that time to help but that she would pass the message on as soon as possible. Early in afternoon Robert contacted my mother to say he would be there soon. Fortunately he has a replacement motor which he was able to install then and there.
I understand the difficulty fixing these problems during the holiday season and greatly appreciate the time and goodwill of your staff. Please pass on our thanks to them. I will have no hesitation in recommending your firm to anyone looking for blinds and awnings.

Our annual event, held on March 13 at the Hotel Realm was a tremendous success, and we are delighted to announce that we raised $272.000 nett.
The Canberra Community has been incredibly generous in supporting our local charity, particularly given the current economic climate and the aftermath of the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
You donation of an Awning, Timber Shutter and Blinds Package valued at $6000contributed significantly to the evening’s success and generated $6500. The auction item is always very popular. Ray, your continued support for Canberra Star Ball is greatly appreciated and we cannot thank you enough.
As you may be aware, we are a small local Committee and it is gratifying to witness the successful growth of the Canberra Star Ball event after only 4 years. This has resulted in moving venues to accommodate the increased demand for tickets. The constant feedback received from guests has been highly positive and clearly a great night was has by all.
We are proud of our local supporters and indeed encourage our guests to support the local business community who have supported “our children”.

I have enclosed a cheque for $1400 being the amount for the supply and installation of awnings of the above address yesterday.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank your business for the very good customer service that was provided to my husband and myself. Primarily, for that reason I was happy to have your company perform the job. A further reason was because you are a locally based company and also manufacture your awnings locally. This ensures that local money stays in the community In addition you offer a turnaround time from date of confirmation of order to installation of only 2 weeks while other companies offer a 6-8 week wait.
I rang Watson Blinds and Awnings and organised an appointment for a quote for awnings after I had arranged quotes from two of your competitors. Your salesman providing the quote was punctual. He measured and quoted quickly, competitively and professionally and even gave me tips on Thai cooking as cooking as a bonus. I was told that I would take about two weeks for the order to be completed once I had confirmed by telephone that I wanted to proceed with the quote. No deposit was required. I gave confirmation either Friday 5 May or Monday 8 May. Right on schedule I received a telephone call on Monday 22 May to let me know that the awnings were ready and that they could be installed the next day if that was alright with me. I was told that I didn’t need to be there which was good, as I didn’t need to take further time of work. As it turned out my son was at home anyway. I was concerned with the short notice in relation to obtaining the money to pay for the awnings. I was told this was not a problem and I would be left an invoice and I could just post the cheque.
What your company has provided (good customer service) may seen to you to be just your normal day to day business practice. Let me tell you about the experience I had in trying to obtain quotes from two of your competitors where customer service did not seem to be a priority. I arranged to obtain quotes from both these competitors and subsequently took an afternoon off work to be there when they visited. Neither company arrived at the arranged time. The first rang me at 7.45pm that night to apologise and say they were held up. I would have though that the very least she could have done was ring me at 2.00pm appointment time and let me know se could not make it, particularly as she has a mobile phone with her. I made another appointment and took another half day off work. They did show and quoted at the arranged time. A substantial deposit was required.
The next company did precisely what the first had done only I didn’t wait for them to contact me. After waiting unsuccessfully for two and a half hours for her to visit I rang and spoke to ‘someone in charge’ (the manager was unavailable) and put forward a complaint. I explained that not only did she not show up but did not even have the courtesy to ring me,). She spent about five minutes on the phone give me excuses why she did not ring me (even though she has a mobile phone) and the asked me to ring & make another appointment. I declined this offer.
Thankyou once again for your very good service and I am pleased that there is still a few companies that value the provision of excellent customer service. I would be happy to recommend your company to anyone requiring your products.
